In Honor of...

In honor of Youk signing with my beloved Yankees...  Here is my Star Wars toy of the day.  The rare Power of the Force figure from 1985 - Yakface.

It's 12.12.12 today and Youkilis signs with my Yankees.  This is pure evidence of the impending apocalypse.  Plain and simple.  Hopefully he grinds out some at bats and plays better than his declining skills have shown us recently.  One thing I know is he is going to sweat all over everything.  Gross... 

So... Here's the Thing...

So...  It has been a very long time since I have posted.  A really long time.  People always say life gets in the way and I usually scoff at that but in this case, it is very true.  So I guess I'm a hypocrite.  Besides having a 2 year old that goes and goes and goes non-stop, my work blocked my ability to get on the site and post which is something I would usually do on my lunch break.  Couple that with the Yankees iritating me on a daily basis, my band in hiatus and my Star Wars Obsession taking over (collecting vintage SW toys of course!), the blog took a back seat.  So, I am done with apologies for now.  I can't promise I'll try...  But I will try to try.  What's been going on?

I've been super-slacking on my baseball card goals.  The last card I picked up was the "rare" Gyspy Queen Yu Darvish.  I've been able to complete some sets this year and met some collecting goals as well as became more organized and focused in my collecting so all was not lost.  You may see more Star Wars posts to go along with my Yankees/sets stuff so I hope no one minds.  I also managed to drop 40 pounds this year which was my BIG goal superseding all other goals.  I'm back to high school weight and feeling great!!!

Last Contest Challenge/Mancave Post 1

The last Challenge is an easy one.  How do you organize your collection?  Here's a little about mine...

 My wife and I built a desk unit for my mancave that houses all of my binders and sets and the desk allows me to organize my cards...

 Work in progress: Putting in the 2012 Topps Series II set I just finished with the pic below showing an opened door with some sets...  Below is an open shelf with some complete set biders as an example (and yes it bothers me that the '78 Topps set binder is not black)...

 My Vintage Star Wars collection, comic collection in the bins under the SW toys and some misc. Yankee stuff...

I forgot to mention that I have about 250 signed Yankees baseballs that I keep behind the binders.  Not the best place for them I guess but it keeps them out of the light and protected.

And what mancave is not complete without the flatscreen...  And now on to the standings...
